Introducing the lovely Alyssa Yuhas! She is a freelance graphic designer currently living in Calgary, Canada. She is also the creator of WLWL magazine + right now they are currently working on their 10th issue! She likes to blog too!! She is in love with LOTS of things - at the top of that list right now is : ELLE UK, Scandinavian design, Marni Spring 2012, acoustic live music, hot pink, my husband's photography & laughter.

"I live in Canada, and it's COLD. But, even in the winter I'm constantly going back to my shorts ( & tights, I'm not that wild!?) combo. I think I'm just trying to hold onto summer in whatever way I can. It's hard to pick just one piece though, as I have been wearing this combination as my "uniform" a lot this winter : Tights + Shorts + button-up Shirt."

Julie Pointer

When I came across these images, I just HAD to share them with you guys. This cozy little backyard dinner was hosted by Julie Pointer to showcase her woodwork she created while getting her MFA in Applied Craft. The weather is so perfect right now for a little outdoor feast like this - too bad I don't have a grassy yard to cozy up in!! Someday. P.S. These images were taken by the  fabulous Laura Dart!

Mood Boards!

I find it so interesting how different everyone's creative processes are - I have really enjoyed working so closely with Moxee because she has opened my eyes up to new and fun ways to approach freelance projects and my business in general. I wanted to share some of my recent mood boards that I made for clients* I always like to start off with an inspiration swap to make sure we are both on the same page visually and color wise. I am going to try and start sharing more of my design work and the process with you guys = promise!

So Dry.

So this past weekend, me and my roommate decided to bust out our green thumbs and get some planting done!! It was pretty hilarious trying to move a baby cactus from one pot to another. I love how different the vegetation is in California compared to anywhere else I have lived - so dry + arid!! I could stare at these pictures for ever.

I want those BONSOIR pillows sooooo badly! They would be pretty easy to make huh? - maybe an iron on DIY project!?? Anywhoo, I loved this entire shoot of Christina Husto with her children. The website THE GLOW makes me melt and super anxious to experience motherhood. Yes, I said it.

Big changes!!

Drumroll.... drum.... roll.... Emmadime is getting a FACELIFT!! It has been a long time coming and I am so excited that it is finally happening. With the help of my partner in crime, Bre of Moxee, it should be up and running pretty soon. Stay tuned!!

My Weekend.

So this weekend was a home improvement weekend. Even though we made very little progress, I still feel like what we did do made a HUGE difference!! I think one of my favorite additions was our outdoor patio lights - they added such a nice glow and made the space a bit more inviting. I got new book shelves and had a ton of fun getting those set up and decorated!! We have also started a tradition with a few new friends called Sunday Supper. I think you get the point - we eat dinner together on Sundays. This Sunday we did mini make-your-own-pizzas* MMmmmm.

The Move in Movie Form.

Hey Guys, so it's done. I made a little video of my TX to CA move. Warning : it's nothing special but I thought I would still share* My friend Sarah Yeargan helped me do the drive - it took us a couple of days and lots of fun was had. I'm not sure what I would have done without her company - that's what friends are for right?? Enjoy.

Outdoors

Yesterday, I spent all day outside with amazing people - It was pretty killer. I need to get outdoors more - especially with the weather being so great ( It was 83 degrees! What!??? ) I am falling for california more and more by the minute*

Those orange lips are to die for!! Whenever I decide to wear lipstick - that is the color I go with* All of the colors in these images are killer - the layers + patterns + vibrancy!! Mmmm. 

Gentle-man : Matt Gray

Introducing a very very good friend of mine - Matt Gray!! We have known each other for a very long time so I can't tell you how exited I am to have him as a Gentle-man. He actually helped me come up with the name for the guy-addition to this feature ( Thanks Matt ). A bit about him - He is currently finishing up his thesis on american luxury to get his MFA in Furniture Design. He's been casting plastic, picking locks, and looking for jobs! His most recent & exciting venture is a trip to Salon Del Mobile in Milan (the Milan furniture fair) to show work!!
